This is a FUN lecture on all the things you didn't know you needed to know about thread!
As an educator for WonderFil Specialty Threads, Nina has learned a lot and she wants to share!
Thread is like candy! Sometimes you just can't get enough...LOL!
When we purchase thread it's usually the color we buy, or the thread the shop carries. In this lecture you'll learn about the different weights of thread and why the make a difference. Ply, why is that important? Specialty threads like metallic, monofilament, tinsel threads, how do we work with them? Why do metallics give us issues? This lecture is FULL of information you'll be thrilled you know now!
All you need to bring is a notepad, something to write with, yourselves and a Wonderfil attitude (pun intended)!

| Instructor Bio: | Hi! I'm Nina Clotfelter! My last name is NOT hard...really! "CLOT" - like a blood clot...yuck! "FELT" - like I felt happy! Yippie! "ER" - then just add the er at the end. It's all one flowing word with no hiccups. SEE! You got it! Anyway! Here are a few fun things to know about me: * I'm a HUGE people person! * POSITIVE person! * Like to challenge myself to try new things! * VERY creative! (this can keep me up at night!) * Laughter is KEY! * Have my OWN alphabet! (My loving husband made each letter of the alphabet describe me! It's BEAUTIFUL!!! CHERISHED!!! And Framed!) * Completed a complex puzzle in nursery school and stunned the teachers! * Originally from Morristown, New Jersey. * Live In the South! Mobile, Alabama (I'm not confused!) * Been sewing since I was 13 yrs old...(we won't say how long that is...just know it's been ALL my life! LOL!) * Don't like my work to look like yours or anyone else's, so I'll usually do something a little different...no surprise there! * LOVE SEWING/QUILTING!!!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!!! * Had a sewing school in my home for 8 years and ALWAYS had a waiting list! * LOVE!!! LOVE!!! Teaching Quilting!!! * I'm a little quirky? But FUN quirky...right? I have a passion for free motion quilting! There is SO much freedom to do anything you wish and ability to express your creativity. Free motion quilting does NOT have to be an expensive endeavor! NO long arm is necessary! You can use your DOMESTIC sewing machine! ALL the quilts on this website have been sewn and quilted on my domestic sewing machine! Come on! Play with me! There is Nothing more fun and satisfying than to share what you love with others who then become successful! Traveling and teaching are two of my favorite things. My most favorite thing in life is meeting new wonderful quilters! Quilters are the most caring, sharing, loving, generous people of any "group" known! I look forward to meeting you! |
