3 Fun, Fast, and Skill-Building Quilt Classes
Discover how simple blocks can transform into striking quilt designs with just a few clever cuts and rotations! This series is perfect for new or confident beginners looking to grow their accuracy, build foundational skills, use up scraps, and complete beautiful projects quickly.
Each 4-hour session focuses on a different disappearing block technique that results in a table topper or baby quilt top.
You can sign up for all three classes or just one—it’s up to you! While it’s helpful to take them in order, each class stands on its own, so you can jump in wherever your interest lies.
Sessions begin December 3rd and continue on the first Wednesday of each month through February.

Session 1: Disappearing 4-Patch (In December)
Start simple, go stunning! Turn basic 4-patch blocks into dynamic designs with clever cutting and rearranging. A great scrap buster and beginner confidence-builder.
Discover the magic of transforming a simple 4-patch block into a dynamic, eye-catching quilt! In this fun, beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to cut, rearrange, and stitch a basic block into something entirely new. Perfect for scraps or coordinating fabrics. You'll leave with a finished quilt top, either as a table topper or baby quilt.
Supplies Needed:

Sewing machine and basic sewing tools

Rotary cutter, ruler, cutting mat

1¼ yards background fabric

¾ yard each of two coordinating or contrasting fabrics
This is a great introduction to quilting techniques while creating something beautiful and practical.
Session 2: Disappearing 9-Patch (In January 2026)
Take your skills further with the disappearing 9-patch. Learn to transform a traditional block into a striking modern layout that looks impressive but is easy to sew.
Take your quilting skills up a notch with the disappearing 9-patch technique! You’ll start with basic 9-patch blocks and learn how to slice, rotate, and reassemble them into striking designs. This is a fantastic class to build your confidence with cutting and piecing, and it’s a great way to use up fabric from your stash.
Supplies Needed:

Leave with a completed quilt top that looks much more complex than it is!
Session 3: Disappearing Pinwheel (In February 2026)
Add motion and flair to your quilting! Learn how to take a standard pinwheel and cut it into bold, surprising new designs. A great skill builder for adventurous beginners.
Get ready to turn traditional pinwheels into something spectacular! In this session, you’ll learn accurate and efficient methods for creating half-square triangles, the foundation of any great pinwheel block. Then, we’ll explore clever cutting and rearranging techniques to transform those blocks into bold, eye-catching designs.
This is a fantastic class for adventurous beginners ready to build skills, gain confidence, and finish a fun, fast project.

This project is scrap-friendly and makes a great quick gift or striking home accent.
Class Cancellations/Refunds:

Classes canceled by Cut Up and Sew will be fully refunded to each student or, if preferred, students may receive store credit.

If you are unable to make a class or event, please contact Cut Up and Sew 72 hours/3 days prior to the start date of such class or event to receive a full refund.

There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 72 hours/3 days before the start date of a class. Your class fee can be applied towards another class or returned in the form of store credit.

There are no refunds on class fees for "Special Event" or outside teachers/classes within 30 days of the event date unless we can fill your spot with another person.

Refunds will not be provided for "No Shows".

If you have a major emergency and need to cancel your attendance at a class, up to the time of such class we will work with you to either make up the class or provide you with a store credit.
