Beginning Garment Making: Melody Dolman (3 Sessions)

Ready to dive into garment sewing or brush up on your skills? This beginner-friendly class is designed to set you up for success with a stylish and versatile project you’ll want to make again and again!

Over three hands-on sessions, you’ll create the Melody Dolman Shirt—a flattering, button/snap-front top that can go casual or dressy depending on your fabric choice.

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced

(Must be comfortable threading your machine and sewing straight seams)

Supplies to Bring:

• Sewing machine or serger (in good working condition)

• Manual, power cord, foot pedal, bobbins, standard presser foot

• 80/12 needles (bring extras!)

• Coordinating thread (plus 1 matching bobbin for sewing machines or 4 cones for sergers)

• Sharp scissors and thread snips

• Five ?”–½” buttons or snaps

• Fabric (woven only – no knits!):
  Up to 40” bust: 2 yards of 45” wide fabric or 1 3/4 yard of 54-60” wide fabric
  Over 40” bust: 3 yards of 45” wide fabric or 2 yards of 54-60” wide fabric. 

  
  (Cotton, cotton-linen blends, or similar; no sheers or heavy/stiff fabrics)

  Pre-washing is optional but recommended.

• Classes canceled by Cut Up and Sew will be fully refunded to each student or, if preferred, students may receive store credit.

• If you are unable to make a class or event, please contact Cut Up and Sew 72 hours/3 days prior to the start date of such class or event to receive a full refund.

• There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 72 hours/3 days before the start date of a class.  Your class fee can be applied towards another class or returned in the form of store credit.

• There are no refunds on class fees for "Special Event" or outside teachers/classes within 30 days of the event date unless we can fill your spot with another person. 

• Refunds will not be provided for "No Shows".

• If you have a major emergency and need to cancel your attendance at a class, up to the time of such class we will work with you to either make up the class or provide you with a store credit.
