Kids’ Sewing Class: Make Your First Quilt!

Stage 2 Kid Class (see below)

Hey parents and grandparents! Looking for a fun and creative activity for your little one? Our Kids’ Quilting Class is the perfect way to introduce them to the world of quilting while making their very own first quilt!

What’s in store?

In this hands-on class, kids will:
Learn the basics of quilting in a fun and supportive environment
Sew with a ¼” seam for accurate and professional-looking quilts
Practice pressing techniques to keep seams neat and flat
Cut and piece simple square shapes to create a 36” x 42” quilt
Gain confidence using a sewing machine and working with fabric

Important Information:

Sewing Machines: Students must bring their own sewing machine. A limited number of machines are available for use—please let us know in advance if one is needed.

Supply List for Child:

• 2 yards in fun fabrics
• 1 1/2 yards of a backing fabric
• 1 1/2 yards of batting or fusible fleece
• Coordinating or neutral thread
• Sewing machine, electrical cords, foot pedal, machine manual
• Regular sewing foot, walking foot
• Measuring tape
• Basic sewing tools
• Scissors for cutting fabric

• Classes canceled by Cut Up and Sew will be fully refunded to each student or, if preferred, students may receive store credit.

• If you are unable to make a class or event, please contact Cut Up and Sew 72 hours/3 days prior to the start date of such class or event to receive a full refund.

• There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 72 hours/3 days before the start date of a class.  Your class fee can be applied towards another class or returned in the form of store credit.

• There are no refunds on class fees for "Special Event" or outside teachers/classes within 30 days of the event date unless we can fill your spot with another person. 

• Refunds will not be provided for "No Shows".

• If you have a major emergency and need to cancel your attendance at a class, up to the time of such class we will work with you to either make up the class or provide you with a store credit.
