Class Description:
Join us at Cut Up and Sew for an exciting, hands-on class with Molly Waddell, back to share her latest creative passion—painting and free motion on black fabric! In this unique two-part class, Molly will guide you through transforming plain black fabric into vibrant, eye-catching art pieces, all while teaching techniques that blend painting with free-motion quilting.

Class Highlights:

1. Session 1 - Painting on Black Fabric
   Explore fabric painting as you learn to bring designs to life with bright, bold colors. Molly’s kit includes everything you need—paints, brushes, a mini tray, patterns (choose from floral options), two pieces of black fabric, a special tracing pencil, and more! All you'll need to bring are your batting and backing fabric.

2. Session 2 - Free Motion Quilting
   Once your painted fabric is dry, we’ll dive into free motion quilting! Using your sewing machine and black thread, you’ll stitch over your painted design to create depth, texture, and dimension. Free-motion quilting tools are recommended (like gloves or a Supreme Slider), so you can stitch with ease.

What to Bring:

• Your sewing machine
• Black thread
• Batting and backing fabric
• Free-motion quilting tools (optional but encouraged)
• Lightbox (optional)

Kit & Supplies:
Molly has thoughtfully assembled a comprehensive kit, available to each participant, so you have everything you need for painting. And remember, students get 15% off any class supplies purchased at the shop!

Cost: Includes all materials in the kit, plus expert instruction in both painting and thread painting.

• Classes canceled by Cut Up and Sew will be fully refunded to each student or, if preferred, students may receive store credit.

• If you are unable to make a class or event, please contact Cut Up and Sew 72 hours/3 days prior to the start date of such class or event to receive a full refund.

• There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 72 hours/3 days before the start date of a class.  Your class fee can be applied towards another class or returned in the form of store credit.

• There are no refunds on class fees for "Special Event" or outside teachers/classes within 30 days of the event date unless we can fill your spot with another person. 

• Refunds will not be provided for "No Shows".

• If you have a major emergency and need to cancel your attendance at a class, up to the time of such class we will work with you to either make up the class or provide you with a store credit.
