Tucker University 1-801 Split Rects

The split rectangle is a basic unit that can be tricky to create. Traditionally it’s been made using templates. Deb Tucker’s concept of slightly oversizing the unit and then trimming to the precise size will reduce the stress of having to place triangles in an exact relationship to each other to get perfect results. Your units will come together perfectly every time! The Split Rects unit can add strong points to star blocks and leaf blocks for added interest. These spikey units can also be used in borders a number of different ways. Once you master the construction of the Split Rects unit, you’ll begin to recognize it more and more in your favorite patterns.
